The Dunalley Waterfront Cafe...

Our dear friends Ben & Stephanie do a fantastic job at their very stylish Dunalley establishment The Waterfront Cafe.
This is ultimately one of our most favoured stops on the East Coast & we always look forward to (especially) one of Ben's scrumptious home-made desserts. Check out the menu & get the "tummy rumbles".
The restaurant is situated right on the water with magnificent views of beautiful Blackmans Bay & is also licensed (sample a good Tassie "drop" here). The lovely Steph's talents range from front-of house management to barista duties...be sure to try her delicious "cappucc'io".
Ben's menu is diverse & modernist, featuring as you would expect, the freshest Tassie seafood plus fantastic gourmet pizzas. They proudly support local growers & producers.
It is without a doubt a worthy stop-over for a long, lazy lunch or indulgent afternoon tea break.
A table on the deck overlooking the peaceful bay, a feast from local waters & a fine Tasmanian wine...what more could you ask for?!! What a fantastic spot to watch the Sydney to Hobart yachts departing on their return journey.

December 16th Tour...

You were all a merry bunch were you not?!! Some great pic's here...Lovely one of Jesse & Judy
& Celine with a backdrop of that beautiful blue water.
By the look of your actions, you must have captured some excellent shots yourselves !!
*If anyone would like a copy of these images, leave a comment & I will happily forward them on.

December 8th Tour...

Here are some great images from 8th December Tour...hope you like them.

Our resident Freycinet wallaby...

This little lady has become a permanent feature of our Freycinet visits...she's a friendly little thing & is always on hand to welcome visitors en-route to the Wineglass Bay hike.

She's a bit of a "show-off"really & definately not camera-shy! Her baby "joey" is equally inquisitive & entertaining. They are quite a pair who never cease to delight.

Christmas on the road...

I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a very MERRY Christmas for 2009 !!

Sending greetings to the far-flung corners of the globe... and thanks to all who joined me on the road in Tassie & the Red Centre this year.

I am interested to hear of how you celebrate Christmas in your different cultures ...so drop by for a mug of eggnog or a Sambuca & leave your story.

We will be dressing up & singing Christmas ditties in various languages(oh the excitement, I have been waiting all year for this) & IF we're all good, Santa may just pay us a visit!!

"Crashing thru the snow..on a one horse-power bus".... tra-la-la-la-la, tra-la-la-la-leeeeeee!

"jingle bells, jingle bells" Ok, enough already!~* (santa's just practising)

Greetings...from the Apple Isle

Just to let you know this blog is now looking a little different... I am now posting from the wilds of Tasmania, in search of the elusive thylocine! No sightings as yet but I 'll keep you posted...
The weather down here is a little fickle to say the least. We are closer to Antarctica than we are to Cairns! The vastness of this continent never ceases to amaze me..
